Is a Bowie Dick test Required with the Enbio S Autoclave?

The purpose of a Bowie Dick test is to evaluate the performance of a Class B/Pre-Vacuum autoclave by confirming adequate air removal from the sterilizer chamber.   If your instruments require a Class B/PreVac autoclave (e.g. hollow or porous), it is recommended to run a daily Bowie Dick test.

What is a Class B Autoclave?

A Class B autoclave is the preferred method of sterilizing porous items and hollow instruments.   A vacuum pump removes the air from the chamber, allowing the steam to penetrate the load successfully.
